02.12.01 - An Introduction

Ok, This is my first Blog. I feel like it should be something profound like the first lines of a great novel. I'm not going to go that far. Not quite sure who my audience is going to be; although, I would not mind feed back from other travelers. My address is william.gibson@airtreks.com. Somewhere in subject line refer to BLOG.

Let me first describe who I am and why I am writing. I am Jay and I am traveling with my wife Lisa. We are 28/27 years young and have decided to liquidate everything we own, put our careers on hold and take six months off and travel to some of the world's great destinations. We both grew up near Seattle Washington, USA. I (Jay) have done the standard highschool-college-backpack through Europe thing and have decided that it was not enough. In 1996 I traveled to Australia and the south island of New Zealand. It was then that I realized my true passion was traveling. Here I am, Feb. 2001 embarking on this great adeveture with my beautiful and incredibly supportive wife, Lisa. How many wives are so supportive and unselfish. I am very pround to be taking this trip with her.

Enough about that. Let's get to the Itenerary. Fisrt stop is London. This is my fourth trip to London. My best friend Mark was transferred to London after he graduated from college. Don't get to see him very often. Always a good time when we get together. From London Lisa and I along with Mark and his wife are flying out to Egypt. They will return to London and we will continue on our trek. After Egypt Lisa and I head on to Kenya for safari..to Nepal for treking..Southeast Asia..Indonesia..Australia..NZ..Fiji..Tahiti..Seattle.
