02.17.01 - The Adventure Begins!

I (Lisa) didn't sleep much last night. Too much anticipation of the long journey ahead, not to mention winding down from one of the busiest weeks of my life. I have to say, unemployment is feeling pretty good, although a little odd. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

We arrived at the airport at 7:00 a.m. sharp, slid across the icy sidewalks, and joined hundreds of other travelers bound for Toronto, Canada, in the check-in line. Despite the long line, we were checked in and at the gate in 45 minutes. When we got on the plane and realized that Air Canada provides enough leg room to accomodate even Jay, I was thinking that this trip was off to a very good start.

We spent the next five hours making our way to Toronto, and then on to London, England. Fourteen hours total on a plane or in an airport. The flights went well, but sheez it is cold in Toronto! We thought Seattle was chilly, but it was balmy compared to the -10 degrees we encountered in Canada. Note to self - there is no reason to return to a place that gets this cold.
